The jury finds the defendant N/A.

February 14th, 2008 · by Andrew · 1 Comment

After a leisurely 90 minute lunch at home (cabbage, hummus, and tomato sandwich), I returned for 45 more minutes of meditative news-viewing. I had just started a new Facebook scrabble game (in which I opened with a bingo, “UNEATEN”), and they’re dismissing us. For eight years! I’m already thinking of volunteering, sometime when I have some down time, and there seems to be a backlog of cases.

That’s all from the courthouse. Case dismissed!

you know I think your liveblogging of this is the ‘real’ public service – the glamor of the internet places this potentially boring and/or terrifying bureaucratic experience in a new, intriguing light for me. I wonder how many others have blogged their jury duty since they’ve had a wifi there? a bunch I bet, how could you not? someone should look into this… I did my first and thus far only jury duty day a year or two ago, definitely in the pre-a wifi era, am now dreading my inevitable return far less – our justice system owes you a debt of gratitude!
