Tip #5: Learn some basic HTML and CSS
Graphic Designers: In recession and in boom times, quick cash can always be at hand if you know some very basic html and css. Small-scale quick web projects are easy to find— believe me I know. As a graphic designer, I’m sure you get asked about them all the time, yet you have to turn them away because you don’t have the proper skill set. Here’s the secret: html and css are easy (and FREE) to learn and simple to do. The entire internet is full of instructions and examples, like this reference. This guy has some good videos you can watch to get started. Get a book from the library if thats your thing. Folks: download a text editor, buy some cheap webspace, and begin learning by doing and make your own website.
