The whole weekend was a plesant surprise. You can read about the proceedings elsewhere, but overall the speakers were great, the reality show Command-X was genuinely hilarious and ultimately deeply moving (the winning project made me cry, no joke) and I met a ton of really cool designers and design hangers-on. Khoi Vinh and I gabbed about promoting RSS feeds, Jonathan Hoefler treated me to lunch, Noreen Morioka ran into me and complimented my video and I think I accidentally insulted her, and I had a really fun talk with John Walter (editor of Eye Magazine) over a whiskey for about half an hour. Brian Collins of BIG brought my video to show Al Gore (but apparently couldn’t get it running on his computer.) Insanely humbling and deeply exciting.
I still don’t understand Denver, and today it’s raining so my outdoor plans are basically cancelled, but I have no regrets for coming. I am amazed I’m saying this, but I might even feel inspired.

So did you bring enough business cards?

Too many, but everyone thought it was funny that I was carrying around a brick of them. Good advice, Pressman!
